Weekly Horoscope: October 2 - October 8
Mars Jupiter Square - Order & Protocol
The entrance of Mars into Capricorn last Tuesday set up this week's Mars Jupiter square. The square produces increasing pressure to make adjustments in the way we relate to others. The Libra/Capricorn interaction focuses our attention on order and protocol. However, there is also a great deal of sensitivity built into this environment from the connections to Neptune and Chiron in Pisces. Close, deep connections with others could feel like a trap we can't resist. We may feel compelled to emphasize our own self-sufficiency even while craving deeper connections with others. Also this week, Mercury leaves the shadow of the retrograde period and enters Libra, compounding the emphasis on relating to others while also increasing the uncertainty about how close to get. Nonetheless, as Mercury approaches the re-connection with Jupiter, optimism grows along with more willingness to communicate openly with others.
Emotions are intensified by Sunday's Scorpio Moon but a trine to Neptune late in the day provides intuitive guidance that helps us find friends to relate meaningfully with. Flexibility is hard to come by on Monday and coaxing people out of their comfort zones to connect with each other will take subtle, skillful and determined diplomacy. The pressure to make significant adjustments is intense on Tuesday. However, indecisiveness is also an issue — self-sufficient autonomy and compromise both look like traps we'd rather avoid. The pressure from the Mars/Jupiter square continues into Wednesday. Compromise is called for. Mercury leaves the retrograde shadow on Thursday, entering Libra. The pressure becomes even more personal and patience is called for. The Moon goes into Capricorn on Friday afternoon, increasing our focus on appearances and submerging any lingering frustration. There are distinct indications that the landscape has changed as a result of this week's pressure. By Saturday, as we reach the 1st quarter lunar phase, compromise becomes more palpable. We turn a corner with increasing awareness of the need to work cooperatively in order to make any sort of tangible progress.
