Jupiter in Aries
Jupiter in Aries - Expanded Initiative
"Faith is the strength by which a shattered world shall emerge into the light."
— Helen Keller
Jupiter has swept through Pisces and arrives in Aries this week — although it will retrograde back into Pisces by late October. Jupiter in Aries spurs expansive optimism but may lead to unrealistic expectations. Once in Aries, Jupiter forms an extended sextile with Mercury as it stations retrograde on Tuesday in Gemini. The interaction with Mercury helps us to bring philosophical principles and an innovative curiosity to the table. The more we can remember that we can learn from both our successes and our failures, the easier it will be to move forward. The Sun is forming a square to Saturn all week, which will complete on Saturday, just ahead of next week's Scorpio Full Moon. There is increasing pressure to follow the rules and abide by a myriad of demands and constraints. Although we may feel intense pressure to follow some kind of predetermined course, the Jupiter-Mercury sextile provides significant hope that we will be able to manifest flexibility in order to adapt to the new landscape that is emerging as we head towards next Sunday's Scorpio Full Moon (9:13 PM PDT 25° Scorpio/Taurus). In fact, the last New Moon in Taurus (April 30th, 1:27 PM PDT 10° Taurus) has formed a juggernaut of growing power and given us extraordinary determination to move forward. However, with Uranus nearby the New Moon, there are plenty of surprises to contend with as we begin to understand the ramifications and implications of what has been initiated under the current lunar cycle. It is our expectations that will leave us vulnerable this week. As we begin to see the new landscape emerging, we may be determined to double down on getting where we want to go. Aggressiveness (or passive aggressiveness) may lead us to try to push others around rather than recognize the importance of cooperation and compromise. We will need to stay flexible and pay attention to what we actually see in front of us — not what we expect to see. The retrograde Mercury (through June 2nd) will give us a chance to adapt and learn from the changing circumstances. Once Mercury retrogrades back into Taurus, we will have the chance to regroup and establish a new sense of security. But we will need to have faith in the process and remember the principle that "it's the journey, not the destination".
There is a strong feeling of constraint on Sunday, as though 'the die is cast'. Energy levels are difficult to manage. We may feel a bit discouraged by any creative pursuits on Monday while the Moon is VOC. The evening seems to bring a great deal of indecisiveness. There is a significant amount of aggressiveness on Tuesday that may encourage some of us to steam roll others. We may choose the wrong road in haste. Our belief that we need to push harder seems to soften on Wednesday under the forming Jupiter-Mercury sextile. We'll do better to remember that it isn't as much about where we're going but rather, how we get there. Our personal sense of mission is highlighted on Thursday. Even if we don't get as far as we hope, we shouldn't discount the progress that we have made. Increased confidence on Friday may also increase energy levels to unmanageable levels. We should be cautious about any 'my way or the highway' attitudes. Pressure is intense on Saturday under the Sun-Saturn square and the approaching Scorpio Full Moon. We need to remember that there is always something new to learn.
