Capricorn Full Moon - Accountability
"A body of men holding themselves accountable to nobody ought not to be trusted by anybody.'"
— Thomas Paine
The Capricorn Full Moon (4:38 AM PDT 11° Capricorn/Cancer) this week sets up a call for accountability, hard on the heels of last week's roller coaster. Our self-image and sense of self-esteem is beginning to feel some significant pressure. The keys to easing this pressure involves both expanding our perspective as well as finding ways to open up to others and ask for help. There aren't any quick solutions. A somewhat generous and optimistic atmosphere could easily lead us to believe that a new beginning — a fresh start — will allow us to clear the slate and release us from the need to clean up loose ends. However, when that sort of escape is seen to be untenable, most of us are likely to just feel overwhelmed. There are a myriad of details that don't seem to 'fit' in any coherent order. Self-reliance and self-sufficiency will not take us as far as we think in this week's environment but we should not resort to reckless or self-indulgent demonstrations in order to bolster our self-esteem. We need to ask for and stay open to help and support from those around us. In fact, this week's obstacles and challenges aren't nearly as intractable as they may seem. New connections can help us to expand our perspective enough to see a way forward. The work on our self-image does certainly need to be supported from inside but we can't do it alone. We are likely to recognize that significant rebuilding needs to be done in order for us to maintain our self-esteem and a positive self-image in the midst of an unfamiliar landscape. We will need to pursue that rebuilding process with the help of those around us. When there is too much that feels 'out of place' within us and we feel overwhelmed, our concerns will likely shift to our basic material security. Concern over tangible, material resources could lead us to believe that we may need to sacrifice some of our individual integrity. However, we can't simply collapse into cooperative initiatives that conflict with our individual position — we need to maintain our individual integrity while working in concert with others. The work on our self-image and self-esteem will continue through most of the rest of the year. This week's focus on accountability is geared towards cleaning up loose ends that are holding us back from presenting our unique, individual 'self' with power and confidence.
A sense of anticipation on Sunday leads us to believe that preparations of some sort are in order. Expectations rise to untenable levels. Misunderstandings are possible on Monday. Resolutions are not easy to come by and any offers of help from others aren't likely to be readily accepted. A painstaking, methodical attention to detail is called for on Tuesday. We are trying to establish a new sense of order following the Capricorn Full Moon. The lack of confidence on Wednesday provides an opening for new ideas. We need to be willing to make reasonable adjustments. Obstacles dissipate on Thursday but so do the strong imperatives to overcome them. We may find ourselves feeling rather aimless. By Friday, it is clear that we need to ask for and accept help from others. We need to stay with the process of sorting out important details that show our willingness to be accountable. Concern over material resources and security present us with some challenges on Saturday. We are needing to reassess our self-image from a broader perspective.
