Cancer New Moon
Cancer New Moon - Ambition
"All for freedom and for pleasure
Nothing ever lasts forever
Everybody wants to rule the world"
We move through the last days of the Sun's transit through Cancer this week, bringing a variety of insecurities and vulnerabilities nearer to the surface. We may be inclined to try to hide or obscure our weaknesses but, if we are successful in keeping our vulnerability hidden, we will miss important opportunities to make deeper connections with others. There is significant support for new leaders to emerge this week under Monday's Cancer New Moon (11:31 AM PDT 24° Cancer) which highlights ambition and provides a powerful boost from 'Providence'. The New Moon's trine to Neptune and quincunx to Pluto suggests a broad reorganization of power structures, driven by inspiration and compassion. Of course, egos and vulnerabilities will still need to be processed and sorted through before we really see how a new 'command structure' can be laid out. Mars is now established in Virgo, putting leadership initiatives through a difficult process of methodical consideration. However, new leaders can emerge naturally through the connections that are made and the experiences that are shared. Ambition and optimism may be quickly undercut when we try to hide or obscure our weaknesses and vulnerabilities. Self-confidence cannot simply be a 'show' that we put on to convince others. Venus turns retrograde at the end of the week and Chiron will turn retrograde at the beginning of next week. This 'one-two punch' will amplify the message of the already retrograde Saturn in Pisces, taking us through a re-examination of our self-image. Self-doubts and a lack of faith in ourselves is certainly connected to how we believe that others view us. But self-esteem must grow from within. It is important to stay open to sharing common experiences so that our connection with others is deepened. The Sun makes an intense, transformative opposition to Pluto before leaving Cancer for Leo. Notably, the lunar nodes shift from Taurus/Scorpio to Aries/Libra this week. The Sun-Pluto opposition squares the lunar nodes. The Cardinal sign energy indicates dramatic shifts provoked by a crisis. This energy may increase the sense of destiny or fate and further the potential for dramatic reorganization and the emergence of new leaders. This week's potent destiny forces are geared towards tempering our skills and capabilities in order to make us as effective as possible going forward. We may need to take time to 're-balance' ourselves at the end of the week before we can take advantage of the added vitality offered by the Sun's transit through Leo.
Optimism is soft on Sunday and may be quickly derailed by sensitivity and vulnerability. We'll do better to 'own' our sensitivity rather than obscure it. Providence and destiny are a factor in Monday's Cancer New Moon. There are destiny forces at work that are leading to important new developments. Individual, independent action is rather tentative on Tuesday. We seem to be waiting for new leadership to emerge. Intuitive guidance will provide important clues to follow, in lieu of obvious leadership. A 'new order' seems to emerge on Wednesday and emerging leaders get a significant boost, providing a 'moment' of significant reorganization. The idealism that we find will be subject to testing over the coming weeks. The stakes are raised on Thursday. Steady, determined effort is required which may feel discouraging. We feel a 'slow down' on Friday. Healing communication is fostered by Mercury's trine to Chiron, helping us to embrace our connection to others. There is likely a need for 're-balancing' on Saturday. We face important questions about our faith in ourselves and our ultimate life mission.
