Weekly Astrology Forecast: July 12 - July 18

The intensity and strong imperatives this week may feel very much like a Full Moon. But actually, the pressure peaks on Wednesday with the New Moon (6:24 PM PDT 23° Cancer/Capricorn) and is followed by a watershed of emotional release and a dawning awareness that whatever external struggles we face must be addressed by dealing with our ego-based fears and internal emotional insecurity. Although we may feel a strong desire to break free from the emotional baggage, it isn't easy to see any safe way to move forward, leaving many feeling a high degree of frustration. Monday increases our desire to communicate the challenges we're feeling but trust is a major factor that threatens to keep us quiet. It may seem very easy to find external forces to blame for our frustration. However, finger pointing and fault finding will do little to alleviate the sense of frustration. It really is an inside job we're facing. Our egos and emotional instincts need to be realigned and adjusted in order to adapt to a drastically different environment fostered by the extended Uranus/Pluto square. The waning phase of that square, that we are now experiencing, requires enormous effort in order to adapt as new structures begin to replace the old ones. It takes time to rebuild our sense of emotional security within the new context that is being established. There are temptations all week to look for a way to point fingers or blame external obstacles for any struggles we face. However, by seeking to deflect blame away from ourselves, we are actually weakening our own foundation, which we will need to support our future progress. Instead of taking the bait, we are wise to explore our own sense of emotional security, and take extra time to learn how to love ourselves more deeply.
