Weekly Astrology Forecast: May 17 - May 23

The Sun moves into Gemini this week under the rulership of Mercury, which turns retrograde on Tuesday. Navigating the landscape during the two or three day period when Mercury changes direction is always a little tricky but the emphasis on Gemini makes things particularly intense. We will need to rely heavily on intuition as we begin the process of review and reflection in an environment where facts and details are scrambled. Luckily, this week starts with a remarkably peaceful Taurus New Moon which initiates a rather quiet mood despite what shapes up to be a pretty chaotic week. The challenges of the Gemini/Sagittarius opposition are in play for most of the week as we struggle to find ways to sort out the pertinent facts and details. Saturn is demanding that we look at the big picture but the Sun/Saturn opposition may tempt us to point fingers rather than looking for ways to broaden our perspective. However, once we move past the chaos of the early part of this week, we will begin to find exciting opportunities for clearing up many communication problems. Intuition and creativity are required, rather than intellectual problem solving techniques. Although some may have the feeling that they are simply 'rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic', there is a method to the madness that this week brings. Friday 'ups the stakes' in a highly creative and deeply passionate atmosphere. We may see some power struggles in relationships as we try to sort out what seems to be an overwhelming myriad of conflicting information. By Saturday, the task for the next few weeks becomes clearer. With a focus on expansion, we can begin to look for ways to trim away the useless scraps of information we used to think were important. Using creativity and intuition, we can begin to assemble a new, more coherent message that tells people who we really are.
