Sun-Pluto Square - More Intensity

"The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart"

— Helen Keller

We are navigating through a waning lunar cycle this week following last Thursday's intense Aries Full Moon (4:26 AM PDT 24° Aries/Libra). But the intensity continues to build all week, most notably due to a Sun-Pluto square on Tuesday morning and the developing Mars-Pluto opposition that won't complete until just after next Friday's Scorpio New Moon (November 1, 5:46 AM PDT 9° Scorpio). The Sun forms a YOD with Uranus and Neptune at the beginning of the week, which does offer a sense of hope but we also need to be aware of the need for caution. With balance and timing, the YOD can help us to step through the pitfalls that we encounter at the beginning of the week and actually lock in some tangible progress. The key is the depth of our connections with those around us. The most significant shift this week is the Sun's departure from Libra and arrival in Scorpio on Tuesday — just after the Sun-Pluto square and the Moon's trine from Gemini. While the tension may seem to ease up a bit, the entire atmosphere changes dramatically. The desire to find some kind of 'balance' slips away and making new connections becomes more difficult. The energy from Scorpio Sun increases the emotional stakes, suggesting a deep determination to protect ourselves and secure our position. Over the past few weeks we had the opportunity to clear away some of our 'emotional baggage' and those efforts are tested this week. The Moon forms a Grand Water trine with Mercury and Saturn late in the day on Tuesday. A sense of fatalism seems to emerge, along with a determined intention to 'burrow' deeply into a place of safety and security. There is more of an inclination to draw protective 'battle lines' rather than maintain a broad perspective. In essence, our emotions begin to take over and run the show. If we have managed to build connections with others and also clear away some of our residual 'emotional baggage', we may still be able to find ways to rise above simple protectiveness and see a more expansive 'overview'. Mars will trine Neptune early next week, offering waves of inspiration and creativity that we can begin to tap into before this week ends. We need to be aware that the most effective connections that we can make this week will be made through emotion rather than intellect.

We need to recognize the need for caution on Sunday. A delicate balance and an expert sense of timing is needed. Emotional tension begins to rise on Monday. There is a feeling that we need to adopt a 'protective stance'. Any desire to find 'balance' slips away on Tuesday. Emotions run high and we feel a fatalistic need to find someplace safe and secure. Powerful emotions are swept up by the Moon's transit through Cancer on Wednesday. Responsibility is a key factor in how well we handle the myriad of stirred up emotions. We feel increased energy and enthusiasm on Thursday. The depth of our emotional investment may not be obvious. We face challenges to clear, direct self-expression on Friday. Deep emotional power begins to surface on Saturday. We find important opportunities to bring forward our ideas in a way that connects to the depth of our emotions but also makes intellectual sense.
