Aries Full Moon
Aries Full Moon - Crisis-Driven Intensity
"Great men are they who see that spiritual is stronger than any material force - that thoughts rule the world."
— Ralph Waldo Emerson
This week begins with a Mercury-Pluto square that sets the stage for an extremely intense, crisis-driven series of developments. Mercury leaves Libra and moves quickly into Scorpio following the square, which increases our determination to effectively communicate the depth of our emotions. Libra's 'veneer' of peace and harmony becomes 'brittle' and begins to fall apart. The Sun and Juno make a conjunction in Libra on Wednesday, further disrupting Libra's desire for harmonious balance and turning our attention towards 'fairness'. We are inspired to definitively fight for the recognition of our true insights, feelings, and perspectives. Mercury in Scorpio can also suggest an increasingly caustic tone. Adding significant tension, we begin to feel the first of three Mars-Pluto oppositions this week, suggesting extended power struggles. The opposition won't complete until November 3rd but Thursday morning's Aries Full Moon (4:26 AM PDT 24° Aries/Libra) is ruled by Mars. The Moon's squares to both Mars and Pluto on Thursday form a full Cardinal cross with the Sun and the Mars-Pluto opposition. The intensity is crisis-driven and highly activating. The full Cardinal cross indicates heightened tension that stirs dramatic action. The struggle for power and control will continue well past the culmination of this current lunar cycle. Mars will retrograde from December 6, 2024 until February 23, 2025 and oppose Pluto two more times — albeit in significantly different environments than we find this week. Mars will oppose Pluto from Leo to Aquarius on January 2, 2025 when Mars is retrograde and somewhat weakened. The final opposition, occurring on April 26, 2025, will present a more aggressive Mars, ruling Neptune newly arrived in Aries. In other words, the landscape will keep changing and the tension won't let up until well into next year — 'nothing's settled until it's settled right'. It is especially important to recognize that what we set in motion this week will have long-lasting implications. What seems to be most helpful at this point is the arrival of Venus into Sagittarius just after the Full Moon. We begin to find ways to express ourselves more effectively and directly. Once Venus moves into Sagittarius, we feel more free to speak our mind. For better or worse, we are ready to directly express our perspectives without the concern for 'appropriate protocol' that has been holding us back for several weeks. Ultimately, this environment seems to test our spiritual development — even if all the action seems to revolve around tangible, material challenges. Mercury's transit through Scorpio will include a trine to Saturn on Tuesday of next week. The Mercury-Saturn trine should help to diffuse some of the tension long enough to lay the groundwork for communicating common-sense insights with sharpness and clarity.
Emotions spill out in unpredictable ways on Sunday. Our interactions are hampered and we're generally held back from fully expressing ourselves — although we keep trying. The muted atmosphere on Monday makes it difficult to express the depth of our frustration. A desire for harmony, peace, and balance seems to be thwarted at every turn. We find more room to effectively connect with our feelings and finally express ourselves with more clarity on Tuesday. We're ready to 'show up' and be heard. There is an increasingly intense atmosphere on Wednesday. We find that the 'scales have tipped' in terms of 'fairness' and away from focusing on peace and harmony. The atmosphere is intense and activating on Thursday. There is significant potential for scattered or wasted energy and effort but little indication that we'll just give up and walk away. We feel greater freedom to speak our minds on Friday. There is a need to adjust our individual perspective in order to adhere to a larger sense of purpose and 'duty'. We find a bit of unexpected stability and protection on Saturday. There is improving ability to structure our message in ways that incorporate both deep emotions and common sense perspectives.
