Pluto Returns to Aquarius
Pluto Returns to Aquarius- Connections
"We need to find our way back to the original, living spirit which, because of its ambivalence, is also a mediator and uniter of opposites, an idea that preoccupied the alchemists for many centuries."
— Carl Jung
Pluto returns to Aquarius this week, where it will stay for approximately 20 years. With Pluto's return to Aquarius, the ongoing Mars-Pluto opposition is reactivated, producing the initial challenges and power struggles of our entrance into this new Era. The context has shifted dramatically from the initial 'stand off' between Mars and Pluto on the last degrees of Cancer and Capricorn, which highlighted individual, emotional responses. Understanding the new context is our biggest challenge this week. The ongoing Jupiter-Chiron sextile is offering extremely important lessons to help us understand the new environment. With the Sun's arrival in Sagittarius on Thursday, ruled by Jupiter, those lessons become more explicit. Mercury, in 'mutual reception' with Jupiter, is slowing down to turn retrograde next week. The retrograde Mercury period (November 25 - December 15) will provide us with the opportunity to shift our 'frame of reference' in order to better understand this entirely new context. The mid-December Mercury station will be especially important in our attempts to understand this new context. The importance of Jupiter here points to a deep examination of our 'Belief Systems' — how our beliefs impact everything we see, do, and say. The new context of Pluto in Aquarius puts our understanding of connection into stark focus. This week's lessons encourage us to begin to recognize the connectedness of all things. More specifically, our understanding of 'Love' of all things. We may have been taught to believe that we need to seek love and understanding outside of ourselves instead of tuning into the 'divine spark' of love within us. When we are able to find love inside of ourselves, our ability to connect and love everything that surrounds us can be profoundly activated. The ideas and insights that begin to percolate this week aren't likely to be very intellectually satisfying. The Moon is waning in light this week, offering less and less clarity. Mercury's slowing motion begins to stall our mind and demand that we rely more on intuitively 'feeling our way'. We should also remember that Mercury will retrograde back to square Saturn two more times, suggesting a tendency to 'jump' in any number of different directions, stubbornly embracing new beliefs and ideas that just don't quite 'hit the mark'. The key is found by embracing the process — including our mistakes — in order to find a truer and more effective 'Belief System' to help us navigate this new 'Era'. Seeking to understand the connectedness of all things is at the very heart of of this process.
We are challenged to find some kind of balanced perspective on Sunday. We're prone to jumping to one side or the other instead of staying centered. Inspiration and imagination are enhanced on Monday, helping us to break with old beliefs and find new opportunities. We can begin to recognize the need to 'lay in supplies' for a challenging 'Winter'. Tension begins to build on Tuesday and individual perspectives are expressed with new force. We aren't constrained by protocol or desire for approval. Inspiration and energy are on display on Wednesday. We feel extra courage to share newly discovered perspectives. There are important opportunities for breakthroughs in our perspective on Thursday. New insights begin to flow. Rational, intellectual initiatives seem to somehow miss the mark on Friday. There is less and less intellectual clarity and many ideas are subject to criticism. We lose a bit of continuity on Saturday. Our 'internal processing' is beneath the surface and requires a great deal of intuitive guidance.
