Sagittarius New Moon
Sagittarius New Moon - Fiery Impulsiveness
"Some things have to be believed to be seen."
— Madeleine L'Engle
We begin the week with a strong desire to break free of whatever we believe is holding us back. The Sagittarius Sun's mid-week trine to Mars in Leo stirs us up. The Sun-Mars trine offers courageous adventurousness to explore the entirely new environment that is offered by Pluto's return to Aquarius. But our ability to 'walk' is still developing — something like needing to find our 'sea legs'. Nonetheless, there is a powerful determination to 'step out' and find our way — even if we might have to take a few 'falls'. However, the Moon wanes in light all week before this Saturday evening's Sagittarius New Moon (10:21 PM PST 9° Sagittarius). We are likely to believe that we have more traction than we really have this week. Venus squares Chiron at about the same time that Mars is trining the Sun, suggesting that we aren't really looking for ways to channel our energy into any kind of cooperative effort. The aggressive approach is more likely to put people off than to inspire cooperation. Our ability to make important connections is likely only one of the first of many challenges that we will face over the coming weeks and months. Mercury turns retrograde in Sagittarius on Monday. This environment is encouraging revolutionary ideas and new ways of thinking. But Mercury's action is going to shake up our belief systems and eventually produce an entirely new frame of reference. Mercury's retrograde motion powerfully interacts with the ongoing Jupiter-Saturn square, demanding that we come to terms with many of the challenges that we have faced since the Jupiter-Saturn conjunction of 2020, which occurred at 0° of Aquarius. Perhaps most importantly, we are faced with coming to terms with the interconnectedness of all things. The belief in our individual separateness — our aloneness — is ubiquitous. Under the retrograding Mercury, our beliefs begin to 'liquify' — suddenly shifting as we gain new perspectives. Connecting our insights, inspirations, and our individual experience into a larger perspective is overwhelming. The ongoing Mars-Pluto opposition tempts us to believe that we must take individual action. In our efforts to pursue our individual agendas and follow through on our individual inspirations, we're prone to 'stepping on toes' without really recognizing what we're doing. We can see that the shifting energy is definitely leading 'somewhere' but we need to be careful of being too 'certain' of exactly where this path is taking us — believing that we know where we're going. The Sagittarius New Moon at the end of the week, in a square to Saturn, is likely to keep us off balance and temporarily hesitant to express ourselves directly or complain when we're dissatisfied. However, that won't last long. The New Moon sets the stage for a new round of individual impulsiveness, along with fiery rhetoric and debate in the midst of shifting beliefs and entirely new perspectives. Bold risks — for better or worse — are encouraged under the new lunar cycle. Mercury will station direct at the culminating Gemini Full Moon (1:01 AM PST 23° Gemini/Sagittarius) on December 15th. We will have the opportunity to connect the dots in our understanding and find ourselves with an entirely new 'frame of reference' based on a radically altered belief system.
There is a strong desire to break free from whatever we believe is holding us back on Sunday. Surprising breakthroughs are possible. Monday brings some encouragement that we're making progress, finding seemingly solid support for our plans. We aren't likely to see any upcoming challenges. We don't find much satisfactory approval from others on Tuesday. Some may work harder for approval while other press on without it. We don't see any obstacles during the early part of the day on Wednesday but by the evening, our progress is stalled. We may be stepping on the toes of others without realizing it. Dissatisfaction surfaces on Thursday and communication is at a low point. Our only refuge seems to be conformity. Balance is important on Friday and intellect needs to be blended with intuition. We may have some doubts but intuition seems to help us move forward with faith. We are hesitant to express ourselves on Saturday. However, the stage is set for future conflicts.
Wow, such an insightful breakdown of the Sagittarius New Moon energies! I love the quote from Madeleine L'Engle about believing to see. The part about our beliefs "liquifying" really resonates with me right now. Exciting times ahead!
