Mercury 'carries the light' of last week's intellectual and inventive Mercury-Uranus conjunction into its 'Home Sign' of Gemini at the beginning of this week. (Uranus will finally reach Gemini on July 7 (PDT) with Mercury well-established in Leo — marking another especially notable shift.) Mercury's ingress into Gemini stimulates an energetic, intellectual curiosity as we adjust to the ingress of Saturn into Aries and the Sun's arrival in Gemini last week. Mercury's rulership of Gemini puts it front and center at Monday's Gemini New Moon (May 26th, 8:04 PM PDT 6° Gemini). There is significant nervous energy stirred up, as well as a number of tempting 'side roads'. Staying focused is likely to be quite challenging going forward. Curiosity and inspiration are blended in ways that show us brand new avenues and opportunities that we haven't seen before. The flow of information begins to 'open wide', bringing both excitement as well as the potential for significant over-stimulation. Mercury sextiles Saturn and Neptune, from Gemini to Aries, just ahead of the New Moon, producing intriguing opportunities that we are compelled to follow up on when Mercury makes a trine to Pluto on Tuesday, just one day after the New Moon. The waxing Gemini Moon's trine to Mars adds 'rocket fuel' to the intensity of our efforts as we move beyond the New Moon. The 'Duality' of the strong Gemini energy shows up in the need to integrate and balance the peak intellectual capacity with emotions. Emotions may sometimes seem to confuse us — "Just the facts, ma'am" — but emotions offer an intense, powerful sense of mission and purpose when properly aligned with intellect. Venus is approaching a conjunction with Chiron that will complete early next week. The mid-week Cancer Moon squares both Venus and Chiron, offering us the best chance to align our emotions with heightened intellectual capacity. In this environment, respect for the past and 'lessons learned' will serve us by deeply grounding our action in the wisdom of experience. Another element of Gemini 'Duality' is seen in the flashes of intuition — 'hunches' — that we may not be able to reconcile with our 'intellectual understanding'. Blending and integrating the mystery of intuitive guidance with mental acuity requires significant flexibility and self-awareness. The cascading effects of this week's intellectual energy surge is, to say the least, difficult to manage. There are certainly temptations be become reckless or hasty. Taming the restless, intellectual stimulation that we find this week is not an easy assignment. The highly social atmosphere we find at the end of the week encourages interaction and the powerful sharing of our ideas, which is critical to establishing productive cooperation and making tangible progress.

There is a crucial opportunity to connect to deeper resources early on Sunday. Staying focused becomes more difficult later in the day. Curiosity and inspiration reach a peak on Monday and the flow of information is powerful. The main challenge is to avoid becoming over stimulated and wind up 'losing the thread'. There are strong temptations to 'strike while the iron is hot' on Tuesday — for better or worse. The cascading effects of the energy is, to say the least, somewhat difficult to manage or control. Wednesday's overriding challenge is to understand how to effectively 'mesh' emotional and intellectual power into focused, tangible action. We have the chance to enjoy free-flowing momentum on Thursday, enhanced by significant intuition seen in 'hunches' and insights. Of course, not every 'hunch' will be on target but we do have the chance to regain our footing and adjust to the shifts in the environment. We may find that our emotions seem to be 'off the rails' early on Friday. Later in the day, we have an opportunity to show our 'lessons learned' in terms of taming the intellectual over-stimulation. We find a remarkable platform for a 'powerful performance' on Saturday. We're given a free-wheeling environment that provides us with an opportunity to share a unique and deeply personal message.
