New Moon in Virgo

New Moon in Virgo - Pragmatic Intellect

"The essence of Time is Flow, not Fix. The essence of faith is the knowledge that all flows and that everything must change. "

— Thomas Wolfe

Mercury leaves Leo this week, following Venus, Mars, and the Sun into Virgo, concluding the flurry of activity in the 'showy' will-power driven sign of Leo. The Leo Moon from Tuesday evening into Thursday afternoon gives us one last review of the lessons of self-assurance and self-approval. Friday's New Moon in Virgo (3:37 AM PDT 6° Virgo) forms a trine Uranus, sparking heightened intellectual activity and surprising but pragmatic change. Belief structures are challenged and there is a significant inclination to perfectionism when we find gaps in our logical assumptions. If we are able to see opportunities, rather than only problems, our week will be much more comfortable. There are some indications that we haven't fully examined the price tag — the cost of future progress — in terms of the effort that will be required to move forward. Those costs begin to be clear this week. The challenge is to focus on the opportunities, rather than on what must be sacrificed. The New Moon begins an entirely new round of growth, where we must carry the lessons of self-assurance into the struggle to make tangible progress — our theories must be tested in action. Virgo's desire for an orderly process is somewhat disrupted by the unpredictable genius of Uranus. It may be rather easy to focus on what is wrong, what is lacking, and what has been lost. The end of the week may have us looking for tangible evidence of progress but only seeing those things that are wrong — out of order and out of place. However, there is intangible evidence that we are making progress simply by the fact that we have begun the rigorous process of constructive, critical assessment and have finally begun to set aside concerns over gaining the approval of others.

Sunday's Cancer Moon activates the trines of Venus and Mars to Uranus, sparking heightened intellectual activity. Perfectionism is intertwined with excitement and opportunity on Monday. Lingering insecurities and the lack of direct, assertive communication may have some of us sulking about what seems to be all wrong. Unsettled, restless feelings keep us off balance on Tuesday until the Moon's arrival in Leo. Self-assurance is tested. Mars trines Uranus on Wednesday, creating a great deal of anticipation and excitement. Perfectionism will keep us off balance if we can't manage to see missing elements as opportunities, instead of fatal flaws. The Moon is VOC for much of the day Thursday, but the Sun's trine to Uranus stirs excitement and optimism. Friday's New Moon sets up an entirely new round but we soon recognize that there's a price to be paid. Relationships change suddenly — for better or worse — and there is an extraordinarily optimistic feeling of freedom. The process of critical reassessment is fully underway on Saturday but the only real evidence of progress is that we've started the examination for ourselves, rather than simply focusing on what things look like to others.
