Virgo New Moon - Cold, Hard Facts

"I'm trying to think, don't confuse me with facts."

—Plato

We begrudgingly turn our focus to cold, hard facts this week. The Virgo New Moon on Tuesday (10:29 PM PDT 27° Virgo) helps us to turn an important corner and brings a demand for logic after the highly emotional Pisces Full Moon (September 6th, 2:43 AM PDT 13° Pisces/Virgo). Some may feel significant disdain by any attempts to draw broad, philosophical conclusions from the logical pursuit of new information. We may even sense that there is some danger of being derailed by emotion and philosophical rhetoric which seems to distort the actual facts. Ultimately, this week's journey helps us to blend and balance logic and facts with emotional attachments. We will need to find a way to reconcile the contradictions (between logic and emotion) before we can really hope to make lasting progress. Perhaps the biggest challenge here is the fatalism or nihilistic abandon that is felt when we begin to believe that the facts don't matter or our own, personal truth is not being heard. There is little consistent determination to actually defend our intellectual insights and the facts as we see them. Eventually, following the Sun's arrival in Libra, creative and artistic elements move in to help the blending and balancing process, potentially leading to a particularly impressive level of progress.

There is a generally cooperative and optimistic atmosphere on Sunday, maintained with charming magnetism. Nonetheless, some may adopt a patronizing tone in order to keep others in line. Monday's Virgo Moon encourages us to quietly adopt a logical process. However, the challenge of keeping facts and emotions separated could seem quite discouraging. Curiosity and the continued search for information keeps us from fully embracing any conclusions ahead of Tuesday evening's Virgo New Moon. Mercury emerges from the shadow of the last retrograde period on Wednesday. We begin to recognize an entirely new framework for communication and cooperation is beginning to fall into place. However, our own perspective and view of the facts may still be subject to dispute, possibly leading to discouraging, nihilistic fatalism. The rough edges seem to soften on Thursday and we discover an increased capacity to smoothly blend our emotions with a logical intellectual process. The Sun arrives in Libra on Friday and the Moon arrives in Scorpio. Even though our patience may be running thin, there is an insistent charm that seeks to smooth any troubled waters. By Saturday, an extraordinary creative and artistic influence brings forward remarkable new insights into how we can reconcile a logical set of facts with some very strong emotional attachments.
