Capricorn Full Moon — Oppressive Intensity

This week's intensity and sense of imperative may feel quite oppressive. The atmosphere is thick with swirling information and heavy with destabilizing emotions that won't settle down. The 'watery', emotional Cancer Sun is overwhelmed by the intensity, especially at Monday's Capricorn Full Moon (4:56 PM PDT 8° Capricorn/Cancer). The Full Moon is ruled by the 'slowing' Saturn in Aries (turning retrograde next month) and is filled with a great deal of eccentric, individualistic, independence. The 'Pressure Cooker' imperatives of the Full Moon may seem to demand some kind of 'quick', sweeping actions. However, the Capricorn Moon, coming to square Saturn by the following day, finds it difficult to tame or stabilize the independent idealism of the overall environment. Mercury's retrograde station, coming at the Full Moon, suggests that 'quick' actions won't suffice — we will need to make an extended and much more considered 'reassessment' of our position and overall perspectives over the next few weeks. The retrograde Mercury in 'security conscious' Cancer is striking at the core of our emotional stability as we try to incorporate the onslaught of information that has been flowing ever faster, especially since the start of the current lunar cycle that began with the June 14th Gemini New Moon (7:53 PM PDT 24° Gemini). On the same day as the Full Moon, Mars arrives in 'airy' Gemini and Jupiter arrives in 'fiery' Leo. The arrival of Mars in Gemini, approaching a conjunction with Uranus — along with a sextile to Neptune, and trine to Pluto — stirs even more intense streams of intellectual information and insight. The arrival of Jupiter in Leo is expanding the potential of the highly potent connections between Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto — 'Insight', 'Inspiration', and 'Transformation' — while Mars, as it approaches a conjunction with Uranus, is supercharging the energy that is available to achieve that potential. By the time Mars reaches Uranus on Friday, the 'filters' come off and we're a bit more free to open up to the world in surprising and unpredictable ways — less out of feeling pressure and more out of a restless idealism. We are inclined to take a decidedly personal approach, even when we are addressing generally public or mundane issues and topics. In this free-spirited environment, we're left to rely on our own sense of personal integrity since there are few guardrails. Many will tend to simply flounder if they don't have just the right push in the right direction from a trusted friend or advisor. There is an extremely powerful intensity that is infused into the atmosphere by the end of this week that certainly has the potential to create conflict. Independence is likely to be fiercely protected. But with the expanded awareness that is offered by Jupiter in Leo as it moves toward an opposition with Pluto, we have also an opportunity to reach more productive solutions to any potential conflicts.

Energy is unleashed on Sunday, along with some unsteady emotional tensions that aren't easy to process. There are 'big ideas' floating around that need grounding. There are strong imperatives to take action on Monday in an atmosphere that is filled a great deal of eccentric, individualistic, independence. We may feel the need to make quick adjustments but we will need to make a more considered 'reassessment' over the next few weeks — any initial adjustments we make are only a beginning. Tuesday's environment seems to 'give us pause', suggesting that we're less inclined to 'make sudden movements'. We may feel an increased inclination to allow someone else to 'make the first move'. Moods change precipitously on Wednesday and there is a feeling of freedom to 'do as we please'. Self-indulgence is possibly the biggest threat. We reach a place on Thursday that enables us to 'lock in' a more 'integrated' approach to our situation. In this context, we are finding extraordinary courage to demonstrate our individual perspective. The 'filters' come off on Friday and we're free to open up to the world in surprising and unpredictable ways. In the free-spirited environment, we're left to rely on our own sense of personal integrity since there are few guardrails. We are offered an extremely promising shift in tone on Saturday that encourages better cooperation. We are encouraged to embrace 'spiritual principles' that point us to connection and integration.
