Aries New Moon Eclipse
Aries New Moon Eclipse- Hasty Missteps
"Though I do not believe that a plant will spring up where no seed has been, I have great faith in a seed... Convince me that you have a seed there, and I am prepared to expect wonders."
— Henry David Thoreau
Mars picks up a bit more speed in Cancer this week and completes the 3rd (of three) squares to Chiron in Aries. Chiron's activity in Aries has been especially important since last year's Chiron/North Node conjunction in February of 2024 which carried into the Aries Solar Eclipse last April which was exactly conjunct Chiron. As Mars squares Chiron this week, we reach an important 'crisis point' in Chiron's trip through Aries. The lessons are teaching us how to fully express ourselves from our individual perspective. Of course, following the retrograde period of Mars and the current retrogrades of Mercury and Venus, our perspectives are shifting dramatically. And so, expressing those perspectives effectively is quite challenging — highlighted by the Mars-Chiron square. As we move beyond the Spring Equinox, we are looking for some kind of 'fresh start' — a new Spring Initiative. But under this week's waning lunar cycle, with our perspectives 'in flux' — to say the least — maintaining a stable footing is extremely difficult. Venus moves back into Pisces by Thursday to find Neptune on the cusp and preparing to enter Aries at the beginning of next week. This '2nd of 3' Venus-Neptune conjunctions is quite introspective, possibly giving us the feeling of 'wandering in the wilderness'. But the 3rd conjunction, when Venus returns to Aries on May 1st, will be much more expressive. Our perspectives will finally begin to stabilize with the direct station of Mercury on April 6th and Venus on April 13th. As well, Mars returns to Leo on April 17th to set off the '3rd of 3' Mars-Pluto oppositions with the stationary retrograde Pluto on April 26th. (There are 3 weeks when there are finally no planets retrograde until Pluto stations retrograde on May 5th.) Notably, the Taurus New Moon (April 27th, 12:30 PM PDT 7° Taurus) will square both Mars and Pluto — suggesting extraordinary tension but also determined expression of individual perspectives. In essence, the stalled and hampered promise of this Spring's 'fresh start' won't reach a true breakthrough 'fresh start' until we move past the tense Mars-Pluto standoff and into May when we will begin to enjoy the three-way mutual reception of the Sun (in Taurus), Mars (in Leo), and Venus (in Aries). In the meantime, there are still opportunities to plant more new seeds before this 'growing season' will truly 'take off'. This Saturday's Aries New Moon Eclipse (3:57 AM PDT 9° Aries) is geared towards correcting past actions taken in haste and clearing the way for new, creative actions informed by the ongoing shifts in our perspectives — essentially preparing the ground for more new seeds. Also, quietly and perhaps somewhat under the radar, Saturn will reach the 1st of 3 sextiles to Uranus (from Pisces to Taurus) just after the New Moon at the beginning of next week. The following two Saturn-Uranus sextiles will be significantly 'louder' once Saturn moves into Aries and Uranus moves into Gemini this summer. The quiet planning (suggested by this first Saturn-Uranus sextile) currently underway — and the 'seeds' that we plant — will be in 'full bloom' before the year is over.
We are seeking a sense of stability on Sunday. The energy is quite encouraging but easily dissipated if we aren't able to stay focused. Hope for a 'fresh start' is fostered on Monday. Instinct guides a strong desire for action but focus is lacking. Shifting perspectives continue to hamper our focus on Tuesday. We need to harness our courage in order to speak out effectively. Our sense of self-worth feels quite unstable on Wednesday. Honest interaction, informed by integrity and compassion, is our best hope for progress. Introspection offers significant opportunities for learning and insight on Thursday. Sensitivity is quite high, leaving us vulnerable to delusion and manipulation. We may feel that we are 'wandering in the wilderness' on Friday. We struggle to find a clear sense of direction. Initiatives continue to seem hampered on Saturday. Nonetheless, there are still creative opportunities to infuse new ideas into initiatives that seem to be stalled.
