Venus-Uranus Conjunction

Venus-Uranus Conjunction - New Connections

"A healthy social life is found only when, in the mirror of each soul, the whole community finds its reflection, and when, in the whole community, the virtue of each one is living."

—Rudolf Steiner

The implications of last Wednesday's Cancer New Moon (3:31 AM PDT 4° Cancer) begin to come to the surface this week but the true genius of our ideas isn't yet developed to the point of complete clarity. Some ideas still seem too far 'ahead of their time'. Our need for the support of others is obvious but the forming Venus-Uranus conjunction, completing on Friday, has us skeptical of any attempts to force us to 'fall in line'. In Taurus, Venus and Uranus stubbornly resist conforming to societal requirements. The conjunction is both erratic and electric, encouraging the 'out-of-the-box' ideas that the New Moon has initiated. The waxing Moon reaches the 1st quarter lunar phase on Wednesday afternoon and then goes VOC for an extended period — more than 36 hours. Essentially, this throws down a gauntlet of challenges but offers little 'fertile ground' to sort through our options and find satisfactory solutions. The developing Saturn-Neptune conjunction requires us to examine our individual 'sense of identity', but we are finding it difficult to locate a 'mirror' — an outer point of reference that helps us understand who we really are. But this is also a global challenge — 'who are WE?' as a society and as a species. Objectivity is a valuable quality as we begin to grapple with such powerful questions. It's likely that the obvious need to 'look within' for answers isn't as clear as it should be. Venus moves into Gemini after the conjunction with Uranus, encouraging productive, interesting interaction. Neptune turns retrograde in Aries on Friday, creating a sharp undercurrent of uncertainty about our personal, individual identity. Both Neptune and Saturn will retrograde back into Pisces this fall, prompting a further, challenging review of our deeper, individual intentions and desires and how those desires can be integrated into the 'bigger picture'. Venus in Gemini may encourage us to ignore those deeper questions this week, even though the undercurrent of uncertainty is unmistakable. Saturn won't turn retrograde until July 13th. Saturn and Neptune will get within 13 minutes of an exact conjunction on July 17th, highlighted by the Moon's transit of Aries on July 16th. We are already face to face with the internal challenges of expressing our individual identity but our expressions are still essentially undeveloped. We set down 'markers' this week — a point of reference that we can refer back to over the next few months. As we review and adjust the expression of our individual 'sense of identity', we can check our progress and eventually come to understand more clearly who we really are.

Sunday morning is likely to feel quite disruptive, presenting us with a quick review of last week's 'blind corners'. A great deal of curiosity leads to some surprising revelations. We'll do better by following some kind of established routine on Monday, despite the fact that there seem to be a number of unusual ideas and activities popping up. Unusual ideas are beginning to surface but aren't yet developed to the point of clarity. There is a powerful determination to display our individual identity and defend our personal freedom on Tuesday. Stubborn insecurities are quickly revealed if our independence is severely threatened. We may be tempted to abandon any ideas that are too far 'out-of-the-box' on Wednesday. Any search for cooperation also begins to seem hopeless. Thursday is not a day to expect things to turn out as planned or expected. Agreements made aren't likely to hold. Friday's easy flow is rather surprising, suggesting a remarkably active day, full of productive and interesting interaction. We are inclined to ignore any deeper questions that surface, surrounding our individual identity. It is most important to consider how well we are establishing the important connections to those around us on Saturday. How well are we building 'community' that can support us and provide us with opportunities to contribute to the welfare of others?
