Capricorn Full Moon
Capricorn Full Moon - Looking for a Foothold
"Dandelion wine. The words were summer on the tongue. The wine was summer caught and stoppered...sealed away for opening on a January day with snow falling fast and the sun unseen for weeks…"
—Ray Bradbury
Uranus 'steps' into Gemini this week in an atmosphere that is highly optimistic. The optimism, marked by a Moon-Jupiter mutual reception early in the week, can easily distract us from the broader implications of the shifts that we are experiencing this week. Venus has preceded Uranus into Gemini. In essence, Venus seems to 'prepare the ground' for Uranus, broadly encouraging the optimism that we are prone to embracing this week. Uranus will retrograde back into Taurus from November 7 until April 25, 2026. (It is interesting to note that Venus will once again conjunct Uranus on the last degree of Taurus — as it did last week — on April 23rd, 2026 and once again 'prepare the ground' for the return of Uranus into Gemini.) By the end of the week, Saturn turns retrograde, joining Neptune in aiming for one last 'dip' back into Pisces later this year. Our individual intentions and 'aspirations' will be subject to significant re-examination as we work to re-align our intentions with deeper principles and inspiration. The review work will begin in earnest with next week's retrograde station of Mercury on July 17th. Mercury entered the 'shadow' of it's next retrograde period last Monday (June 30th) and will be retrograde from July 17th until August 10th. Unfortunately, Mercury won't quite retrograde back to make another trine to Neptune or Saturn, from Leo to Aries. Our ability to make the most of the inspiration and steady planning offered by the Mercury-Saturn/Neptune trines has essentially 'peaked'. We will need to rely more directly on our deeper 'beliefs' and principles in order to maintain our desired course effectively. Thursday's Capricorn Full Moon (1:36 PM PDT 18° Capricorn/Cancer) will bring faint but distinct reminders of the need to prepare for Winter even in the midst of the optimism of Summer's 'opulent bounty'. There is a powerful drive towards accomplishment inherent in the Full Moon but few substantial 'footholds' are offered. Despite what may seem — from this week's perspective — to be a sense of satisfaction with our accomplishments, it is important to begin to look towards preparation and 'consolidation'. The magnitude of this week's shifts can be easily overlooked — 'in the moment'. The retrograde Mercury's review process in Leo is geared towards giving us a better understanding of our individual sense of power and control — a theme that is also activated by this week's Full Moon in Capricorn. Essentially, the lessons learned over the next few weeks will offer us a better ability to effectively use our individual power in order to fully and effectively engage with the dramatically shifting landscape.
Sunday's sense of satisfaction or accomplishment may keep us from recognizing the need for preparation and consolidation. We need to rely more directly on deeper beliefs and principles. Monday's increased optimism can easily distract us to deeper shifts. We are likely to enjoy an extraordinarily exhilarating sense of freedom but should be extremely cautious of any inclination towards recklessness. The excitement in Tuesday's atmosphere creates an extreme amount of vulnerability. Sticking to the basics — 'Trust God, Clean House, Help Others' — can help us to recognize some of the transitory nature of the environment. Although Wednesday's atmosphere may suggest some kind of a 'let down', it's actually a pretty soft landing. We need to continue to keep our eyes on the potential for vulnerability to manipulation in this environment. While we may not see many obstacles to our progress on Thursday, we should not conclude that the final results have yet been seen. This isn't much adaptability in the atmosphere but adaptability will — sooner or later — be needed in order to reconcile our desire for accomplishment with our deeper beliefs and principles. Friday's atmosphere is fraught with undeveloped ideas and sudden occurrences that can quickly derail our initiatives. Our free expression may be well supported but lacks the clarity of purpose that offers any potential for real progress. We find a helpful layer of protection of our ideas and initiatives on Saturday. We may begin to recognize the need to re-examine our individual intentions and aspirations.
