Cancer New Moon
Cancer New Moon - New Ideas
"The scientific man does not aim at an immediate result. He does not expect that his advanced ideas will be readily taken up. His work is like that of the planter - for the future. His duty is to lay the foundation for those who are to come, and point the way."
—Nikola Tesla
Jupiter begins to emerge from the challenging squares to Saturn and Neptune this week. However, the Sun squares Saturn and Neptune and the Sun's conjunction with Jupiter, ahead of Wednesday morning's Cancer New Moon (3:31 AM PDT 4° Cancer), highlights the continued activation of the powerful energies that encourage bold action. The Sun's connection with Jupiter, just before the New Moon, increases optimism and compounds the sense of imperative to Do Something! Nonetheless, the potent YOD configurations that were set up last week are still fully engaged, demanding that we make adjustments, seek compromise and spend the bulk of our time examining alternative perspectives. The quincunx and YOD aspects suggest that we are turning a 'blind corner' — faith is needed to move ahead without being able to see exactly where we are heading. The New Moon is packed with incredible genius but many of the ideas may seem to be 'ahead of their time' — 'odd' or 'off the wall'. The genius is easily misunderstood. Nonetheless, at the pace we are seeing, ideas may not seem to be 'ahead of their time' for very long. We are looking for ways to establish a stable new position, based upon a re-evaluation of our beliefs and perspectives — a re-evaluation process that has been underway for most of the year. In essence, the need to 'take a stand' based upon what we have learned is fed into the new lunar cycle that begins this week. Although we would like to stand 'on our own' with individual confidence and 'certainty', we are faced with the need to have something — and someone — to rely on. Essentially, we want to stand on our own but we also need a group, tribe, or family to lean on — 'to have our back'. Of course, this suggests some restrictions or a need to compromise that feels less than 'optimal'. Mercury's ingress into Leo on Thursday points to a shift in our approach to handling the coordination of our individual positions with alliances and collective efforts. Mercury quickly trines Saturn and then Neptune, stirring powerful inspiration. Intuition is the key to making the most of this inspiration. We will need to carefully examine the 'implications' of the seeds that we are planting in this waxing lunar cycle. There is a great deal of unfamiliarity — we are definitely in new territory. By the end of the week, individual power is incredibly strong but the increased need for others — collective effort — should not be ignored. Our individual initiatives are being driven by strong, aggressive imperatives. Mercury's opposition to Pluto, coming up a the beginning of next week, will encourage us to 'lock in' our approach and settle on a definitive plan.
We need to focus on emotional/intellectual integration in order to stay grounded on Sunday. There are rebellious instincts and high optimism that may encourage us to go too far. It isn't easy to 'read' the intuitive signals on Monday. There are some 'martyrdom tendencies' at play. Opportunities to find clarity are elusive on Tuesday. Attempts to verify a solid position don't offer the kind of satisfaction that we would like and making connections with others isn't likely to provide much clarity either. There are a number of surprisingly 'odd' ideas floating around in the atmosphere on Wednesday. However, the challenge is to find some way to coalesce around something that can produce collective action. We begin to look for ways to establish a stable new position on Thursday. We are also faced with the need to have something — and someone — to rely on before we move forward with true confidence. Friday's atmosphere is active with opportunities to gather important revelations and profound insights. In this atmosphere, we have the chance to streamline our ideas while also incorporating fresh new perspectives. Intuition is the key to making the most of the inspiration we feel on Saturday. Although individual power is incredibly strong, our need for others should not be ignored.
