Pisces New Moon

Pisces New Moon - Inspiration

"Try to be a rainbow in someone's cloud."

— Maya Angelou

There is an increasingly nebulous, intangible quality that descends upon us this week as we move towards Saturday's Pisces New Moon (2:21 AM PST 23° Pisces). Pallas arrives in Pisces to begin the week, which has us looking for proof to support our position but increasing our hesitation to trust the truth when we find it. Pallas is joining Venus and the Sun in Pisces, compounding the nebulous atmosphere. We may find ourselves in an increasingly fraught environment — something like 'a foggy sea filled with half-submerged debris' that is difficult to recognize and navigate. The quality of the Piscean influence is both confusing and inspiring, intoxicating and imaginative, foggy and visionary. Although intuition may be enhanced, the potential for delusion and emotional confusion is also in the mix. We still feel the effects of the Saturn-Uranus square (which will be with us all year), which is requiring us to make significant course corrections as we discover new information. In this atmosphere, such shifts in direction may be informed by solid intuition or by emotional confusion. The Sun's conjunction with Neptune on Wednesday provides some cover to make subtle course changes without too much upheaval. However, by Thursday when the Moon arrives in Pisces and squares Mars in Gemini, the adjustments we find we need to make may lead to recrimination or other kinds of strong emotional backlash. This week's sensitive and inspirational atmosphere fosters creativity and imagination but the clarity of the facts may be very hard to pin down and are subject to a variety of challenges both reasonable and delusional. We need to be sure that the information that we are looking at is not arising out of the Neptunean tendency to self-deception. It may be quite easy to become caught up in a swirl of conflicting and confusing bits and pieces and even become determinedly attached to questionable information. What we need most is some degree of detachment that allows us to also stay tethered to something practical and tangible. Without such a tether, we may be prone to becoming sidetracked or thoroughly confused by any adjustment in our direction. The Piscean ability to offer compassionate understanding can offer a great deal of stabilization in this atmosphere. Our overall goals don't need to be changed so much as our approaches and our strategies need adjustments based upon new information as we find it. By Saturday's Pisces New Moon, our imagination and vision becomes more focused, our imagination is inspired and creativity is enhanced. Neptune, ruling the Pisces New Moon, is conjunct Venus, which leads to some subtle materialism that may increase the danger that we confuse material goals for spiritual growth. However, the material qualities of Venus also serve to focus our creative inspiration on producing tangible results.

The arrival of Pallas in Pisces on Sunday emphasizes the need to rely on intuition and faith. We will need to stay alert for potential surprises and avoid placing too much weight on any single element of support. Monday brings a bit of stability and detachment to our ongoing search for proof of the validity of our position. We can more easily deal with the facts as we find them but, once those facts are acknowledged, course changes may be called for. Tuesday's intellectual stirrings face challenging obstacles. We need to listen to the insights of others as well as honestly express our own. The Sun-Neptune conjunction provides a bit of tactical cover to make subtle adjustments without stirring too much resistance. However, we should still find some kind of confirmation that we are making the correct moves. We don't have as much room to make adjustments on Thursday and we may face an emotional backlash when we take unilateral action. Inconsistencies are especially vulnerable to attack. The is some tendency to defensiveness on Friday but acknowledging our vulnerabilities or mistakes will bring compassionate understanding. The gifts are found by both giving and receive forgiveness and compassion. Saturday's Pisces New Moon occurs in the early morning hours and may stir some spectacular dreams and visions. There is a potent inspirational quality and creative potential but we need to be very careful to distinguish between material payoffs and spiritual growth as we navigate this powerfully inspirational New Moon.
