Weekly Astrology Forecast: July 26 - August 1

Venus has begun her 40 days & 40 nights of retrograde motion and is picking up reverse speed all week. The intensity of our concern over image and appearance also picks up intensity all week. We begin the week with an optimistic Fire Trine, set off by the Moon's transit through Sagittarius. The tension from the Mars/Uranus square finally begins to wane. Optimism and confidence leads us to believe we can finally let off some steam. However, there is still a significant amount of sensitivity and defensiveness just below the surface, potentially creating some hidden hair triggers that we should be very careful not to set off. Monday offers some opportunity to clear away some the the debris that is feeding our sensitivity and creating some transitory misunderstandings. The Moon's move into Capricorn on Tuesday shuts down the optimism and may trigger at least a bit of paranoia. By Wednesday, it seems almost impossible to keep from erecting some kind of protective barrier in an effort to present an image of strength and self-sufficiency. The Moon's arrival in Aquarius on Thursday, prior to Friday morning's Full Moon (3:42 AM PDT 7° Leo/Aquarius), sets up an element of fate, destiny or providence where there are likely to be some winners and some losers. Some may feel very disappointed to see that their good efforts do not seem to be rewarded appropriately, while others seem to have succeeded by doing all the wrong things. We should refer to the story of the Old Man & The Horse as we continue, over the next 6 weeks of the retrograde Venus, to explore issues of self-worth and our belief in the wisdom of our efforts and pursuits.
