Taurus New Moon
Taurus New Moon - Follow Through
"Some people say I have attitude — maybe I do… but I think you have to. You have to believe in yourself when no one else does - that makes you a winner right there."
—Venus Williams
There is remarkable determination fostered under the Taurus New Moon (12:30 PM PDT 7° Taurus) at the beginning of this week. Venus rules the New Moon from Pisces, suggesting that we are swimming through some deep, emotional currents while also feeling a modicum of deference to Taurus' preference for peaceful order. Creativity is aided by intuition, helping us to avoid the temptation to feel discouraged by slow progress. We have seen significant frustration, challenging obstacles, and 'roadblocks' under the strong 'Fixed Sign' influences of the Sun's squares to Mars and Pluto last week as well as the third Mars-Pluto opposition. Although we are still dealing with the remnants of those frustrations, challenges, and obstacles this week, the New Moon helps us to shift our course and get beyond those frustrations. With Venus now direct, we can begin to act on the new perspectives we have gleaned under the last Venus retrograde phase (from March 1st through April 12th) — we have a 'New Attitude'. We can see more clearly exactly what needs to be done and begin to feel a new determination along with a degree of patience that helps us to maintain steady effort. The Venus-ruled New Moon offers important opportunities to 'learn as we go', as well as an increased capacity to 'follow through' on past initiatives. And we can also more easily draw on past lessons and experiences. Venus returns to Aries by Wednesday, marking a distinct shift in our 'tone' and perhaps a more amped up 'attitude'. Our sense of direction is intensified and our minds are active, producing a keen sense of 'right and wrong' — along with at least some temptation to indulge in self-righteousness. But even if we begin to develop some 'sharp edges' or 'sharp elbows', this week's overall environment is geared towards maintaining steady, grounded progress. The third of 3 Venus-Neptune conjunctions completes by Friday. There is grounded idealism and a soft-spoken courage to be found in this conjunction. With the ingress of Venus into Aries, a 'three-way mutual reception' is initiated with the Sun, Mars, and Venus. Essentially, each of these three bodies are supportive of the efforts of each of the others, bringing a great deal of creativity, personal strength, and will power into play. The effects of this 'mutual support system' will be in effect until the Sun's entrance into Gemini on May 20th. In essence, courage is grounded in personal conviction this week, supporting an increasingly clear and determined sense of direction.
There is significant tension on Sunday that may have us feeling somewhat 'stuck'. To some extent, the tension increases our determination and helps us to avoid becoming side-tracked. We may be feeling a bit too much freedom on Monday. Steady investment of effort is needed to avoid heading into disappointing dead-ends pursued in reckless haste. Activity is brisk on Tuesday — perhaps even aggressive. There is a 'Seize The Day' mentality. Wednesday marks a dramatic shift in our approach and our 'tone', demonstrating a clear sense of 'right and wrong'. We may need to guard against self-righteousness. We run into a general lack of focus on Thursday as we look for ways to settle down, unwind, or relax a bit. Things may seem a bit out of control. Our approach softens a bit on Friday but a strong sense of determination remains. We are encouraged to clarify our message and our intentions with more specificity. Some may experience a sense of 'impending doom' or other negative potentialities on Saturday. However, there is also an important luck factor involved that offers some room for spontaneous resolutions in a distinctly fate-like atmosphere.
