Sun Square Mars - Tension

The energy levels are very high this week but also difficult to manage effectively as the Sun is forming a square to Mars that is building all week. There is a strong, impatient urge to break free of restraints and some will be more likely to reach for a sledge hammer than to appreciate the opportunity for steady, subtle progress. Flexibility seems to come and go unpredictably. Finding compromise and establishing cooperative alliances is quite difficult. We need to look for ways to appreciate and embrace new approaches but finding agreement or approval isn't easy. The unconventional approaches that are available may need to be repackaged in order to appear more acceptable. Sunday and Monday are likely to produce the most frustration, leading to an increasing desire to break free of constraints. Tuesday offers increased optimism and flexibility but there is also a strong temptation to blame others for creating the obstacles that we are struggling to overcome. Wednesday brings an atmosphere of defiance and increased determination to pursue unique, unconventional approaches. By Friday, Venus conjuncts Pluto and offers a highly creative environment that may help to make the unconventional approaches seem more palatable. All week, we are looking for something new to help us traverse this unfamiliar terrain but feel some concern over dramatically breaking with the past. The intensity builds all week and continues to increase until next week's New Moon (February 8th, 6:38 AM PST 19° Aquarius). We are also likely to see some fate-like twists and turns, encouraging a sense of destiny and increasing the determination to pursue a unique and unconventional new approach.
