Aquarius Full Moon
Aquarius Full Moon - Locking in Change
" I have great respect for the past. If you don't know where you've come from, you don't know where you're going. I have respect for the past, but I'm a person of the moment. I'm here, and I do my best to be completely centered at the place I'm at, then I go forward to the next place."
— Maya Angelou
It is pretty hard to miss the fact that there is a whole lot going on this week! Monday's Aquarius Full Moon (11:25 AM PDT 27° Aquarius/Leo) brings a hard edged culmination to the remarkably optimistic Leo New Moon that occurred on August 4th. Certainly, the Full Moon's tight square to Uranus suggests surprising developments. However, there is also a powerful imperative to hold things together and 'locked in place'. The Fixed T-Square between the Sun, Vesta, the Moon, and Uranus centers our focus on finding security and stability while aiming towards the future. The waning Mars-Jupiter conjunction continues to stir our minds with new ideas as well as exciting new connections. That Mars-Jupiter conjunction forms a Mutable T-Square with Venus in Virgo and Saturn in Pisces. The Mutable T-Square enhances our awareness of the need to find stability and security within ourselves. That awareness is especially important as we work through the numerous shifts and developments that unfold as we move past the Full Moon. This week's Full Moon brings to a culmination many of the themes that have been developing for most of the year, going back at least to February's Chiron/North Node conjunction and the April Eclipses. We have important opportunities to lock in our ability to express our unique, individual perspective while continuing to listen to others and integrate new perspectives and ideas as they are presented to us. The retrograding Mercury figures strongly into the equation, completing the 'inferior conjunction' with the Sun on Sunday, right before Monday's Full Moon. Also integral to this week's developments are the Sun and Mercury's conjunctions with the asteroid Vesta. Vesta helps us to stay laser focused on expressing our perspectives directly and clearly, despite navigating through what may seem like quite a chaotic and difficult-to-manage environment. Vesta helps us to see the need to give up on old and unworkable ideas in order to stay balanced and focused on our future security. It is also important to recognize the Sun's ingress into Virgo on Thursday. As the Sun shifts from Leo to Virgo, it moves through the same zone that Mercury has highlighted, forming a potent YOD configuration with Neptune and Pluto. With the Sun at the focal point, our unique, personal self-expression is where the power is funneled. In the context of these shifts, humility is also needed — we need to recognize and honor the value of input from others, sharing our own perspectives with power and confidence but also respecting the perspective of others. The overall arc of this week's developments help us to stabilize the ongoing rush of insights and ideas. By the end of the week, we begin to move out of the realm of 'ideas' and into the realm of effective action. We will begin to see how to put those ideas to work in the tangible realm. As well, we will find opportunities to lay the groundwork for future cooperative efforts.
Sunday's rush of airy ideas are difficult to tame or clarify. Nonetheless, we encouraged to maintain steady effort in order to find fertile ground to plant the 'idea seeds' that are offered. Significant surprises are possible on Monday but the overall imperative is geared towards holding things together. Our focus is aimed towards maintaining security and stability as we move towards the future. Finding a sense of security on Tuesday is rather challenging but we are guided towards the understanding that we need to find that security 'inside ourselves'. We need to maintain a delicate balance between relying on the insights of others and relying on our own inner wisdom. There is a significant shift in tone as we move through the day on Wednesday. Getting stuck on a particular approach or perspective can be especially troubling. Power is funneled through personal expression on Thursday. There are valuable opportunities to lay the groundwork for future cooperative efforts. We may have a hard time finding traction for much of the day on Friday. However, the evening offers critical opportunities to establish important connections with others. We find some 'breathing room' on Saturday. We can begin to move out of the realm of 'ideas' and into the realm of effective action.
