Gemini Full Moon - Hazy Connections

"From a certain point onward there is no longer any turning back. That is the point that must be reached."

— Franz Kafka

This week initiates a series of turning points that will continue to bring shifts well into next year, giving us 'a lot to think about'. We start the week with a somewhat muted Gemini Full Moon (1:01 AM PST 23° Gemini/Sagittarius) that forms a murky T-square with Neptune. Mercury stations direct at the Full Moon, which it rules from Sagittarius. There are powerful new perspectives to work with but we'll need some time to determine how to organize our thoughts and put forward our new perspectives effectively. We may be prone to becoming increasingly defensive if we can't clearly articulate our new 'frame of reference', especially with Mars now retrograde in Leo — putting our egos on the line. Our expectations are somewhat inflated by a Moon-Jupiter conjunction that occurred at the end of last week and feeds into the energy of the Full Moon. However, our optimism is easily dashed when we realize that things aren't easily falling into place. Moody sensitivity seems to persist during the early part of the week. The moodiness is fed by bouts of pessimism and an obsessive focus on what is still wrong instead of recognizing what has actually improved. The foggy, murky Sun-Neptune square on Wednesday keeps our sensitivities high and self-expression is easily stalled with self-doubt and ego-vulnerability. Eventually, the 'fog' seems to clear and there is a temptation to 'gloss over' any misunderstandings or mixed signals. Martyrdom is obscured by 'appropriate pleasantries' and may be missed in the confusion. By the time we reach the Winter Solstice at the end of the week, it is clear that responsibility and clear-eyed solutions need to be adopted. Adjusting to the new landscape can not be side-stepped. Once in Capricorn (at the Winter Solstice), the Sun squares the lunar nodes as they prepare to shift from the Aries/Libra axis to the Pisces/Virgo axis next month. The Sun's square to the nodes suggests a clear turning point in our perspective, beginning to direct our focus towards deeper connection and away from individual self-expression. As Mercury begins to pick up 'speed', we will begin to recognize the importance of clarifying our perspective through careful compromise and a willing 'give and take' of ideas. Solutions will become more and more clear but we will certainly see our progress stalled if we become too concerned with who gets 'the credit'. Ego vulnerabilities will feed directly into the potential for power struggles under the next Mars-Pluto opposition in January. The demand for honesty and responsibility at the Winter Solstice isn't subtle. In order to successfully navigate the series of turning points coming up for us through the end of the year and into 2025, it is crucial that we recognize the need for an honest and responsible exchange of our new perspectives.

Optimism is fleeting on Sunday, easily dashed when inflated expectations are exposed. There is some potential for pessimism when we focus on what is wrong instead of what has gotten better. Conformity feels like a safe refuge on Monday. Stepping out of line seems to be strongly discouraged. Moodiness and unsettled emotional sensitivity brings a strong desire for security on Tuesday. Spontaneous activity seems quite disruptive. Self-expression feels challenging on Wednesday and may be stalled by self-doubts. Foggy confusion dissipates as the day develops. The superficial amiability on Thursday may be obscuring some martyrdom and strong feelings of dissatisfaction. Although the atmosphere may be quite easy-going, we shouldn't ignore what is being 'swept under the rug'. Compromise and a willing give-and-take of ideas helps us to rise about the week's confusion on Friday. However, we may stumble over any need for 'perfection'. The atmosphere may feel a bit cold and harsh on Saturday. The need for responsibility is inescapable but may seem quite demanding.
