Aquarius Full Moon — Nervous Energies

"You can't bribe the door on your way to the sky"

Saturn stations retrograde in Aries at the beginning of this week. The lessons that we have learned from our past experiences must be reviewed and tested, revealing how effectively we have maintained our integrity while pursuing our individual initiatives. The innovative, intellectually expansive optimism of Jupiter's connections to Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto — last week's high intensity connections — immediately begin to come under the scrutiny of Saturn's review process. Next month's Pisces Full Moon eclipse (August 27 8:18 PM PDT 4° Pisces/Virgo) will feature the only waxing Jupiter-Saturn trine in the Jupiter-Saturn cycle ('seeded' in December 2020 in Aquarius), from Aries to Leo. Between now and then, we have important opportunities to gain the most from the Jupiter-Saturn interaction, which tests our optimism with a grounded perspective. However, this Wednesday's Aquarius Full Moon (7:35 AM PDT 6° Aquarius/Leo) is so tightly wound and filled with such an unmanageable level of unstable nervous energy, it isn't easy to see how we can actually 'hold on' long enough to get to that place of grounded optimism. This week's Full Moon (coming just after the Moon's conjunction with Pluto, trine to Uranus, and sextile to Neptune) will oppose Jupiter's tight conjunction with the Leo Sun, testing any self-indulgent independence and over-optimism. At Saturn's retrograde station on Sunday, the lunar nodes shift from the Virgo/Pisces axis to the Leo/Aquarius axis, leaving us few clear, productive avenues for the expression of our individual self-will unless we are able to find support within some kind of wider, cooperative 'group'. As well, the midweek Venus-Mars square stirs up intense levels of impatience. Mercury is ruling both Mars and Venus in their chaotic square from Gemini to Virgo which completes very close to the Full Moon. Critical attitudes and outspoken, 'sharp tongues' create an explosive atmosphere. Mercury is only beginning to pick up forward motion and, in Cancer, is still relatively unsure of how to send just the right message or otherwise soothe this stirred up energy of the Venus-Mars square as it feeds the intensity of the Full Moon. Essentially, until we begin to move past Wednesday's Full Moon, we have very little support for gaining detachment or a broader perspective. But once the Sun moves beyond Jupiter and the chaotic Mars-Venus square begins to wane, we find increased support for intuitive guidance. There are some valuable healing instincts that offer a degree of soothing energies, allowing us to tone down at least some of this week's unstable nervous energies. By the end of the week, the independence in the atmosphere may produce more isolation rather than the recognition of our need to reach out to others for support. We will need to set aside at least some of our independence in order to find our way to understanding how to pursue the 'the greater good' and eventually understand how to make the most of next month's important Jupiter-Saturn trine.

The determination and raw will power of Leo finally begins to come through on Sunday. This is essentially an individual determination that is facing a demand that we focus on our place within the 'group', culture, society, or community in which we find ourselves. We face a quick but intense challenge to our confidence on Monday but seem to recover quickly. We may enjoy an important dose of stability which is valuable — but short-lived. There is a great deal of chaos stirred up in Tuesday's atmosphere but we aren't offered any outlet to achieve anything like 'control'. Detachment is difficult to manifest. Critical attitudes and outspoken, 'sharp tongues' create an explosive atmosphere on Wednesday. There is a great deal of individual self-will and independent determination on display. There is at least a bit of space for the development of a bit of detachment and some help to gain a broader perspective on Thursday. But there is very little to suggest that any issues or sense of 'overwhelm' actually 'go away'. There is increased support for intuitive guidance and some valuable healing instincts on Friday that offer a degree of soothing energies to tone down at least some of this week's unstable nervous energies. The improved perspective provides us with an opportunity to actually take stock and re-balance. The independence in Saturday's atmosphere is more likely to lead to isolation rather than helping us to see the need to reach out to others for support. The atmosphere really brings home the need to set aside at least some degree of independence in order to find our way to understanding how to pursue the 'the greater good'.
