Venus-Jupiter Conjunction
Venus-Jupiter Conjunction — Good Feelings
"Lightning and thunder require time, the light of the stars requires time, deeds require time even after they are done, before they can be seen and heard."
— Friedrich Nietzsche
This week begins with a developing Venus-Jupiter conjunction that encourages 'good feelings' and a revival of the optimism inspired by last Sunday's Sagittarius Full Moon (1:44 AM PDT 9° Sagittarius/Gemini). Venus and Jupiter complete their conjunction on Tuesday while Saturn is making a 'soothing' conjunction with Pallas. Essentially, Saturn's pessimism is somewhat 'sidelined', allowing a stubborn, restless optimism to 'swirl freely' — potentially pushing us too far into over-optimistic inspiration that offers little 'tangible, practical' routes to real progress. By Wednesday, a myriad of subtle details begin to create new questions. Vague tensions begin to 'roll in'. Motivation wanes and actual progress remains stalled. Nonetheless, Ceres makes a notable trine to Pluto, suggesting some significant encouragement to move forward with inspired, visionary — even revolutionary — ideas despite unfavorable odds. As well, there is extraordinary unpredictability in the atmosphere, suggested by the square of Uranus to the lunar nodes, which culminates on Thursday. By Friday, Venus has moved well past Jupiter and makes a square to Chiron from the last degree of Cancer to the last degree of Aries. The Venus-Chiron square increases an unsteady sense of anticipation, giving us the sense that the 'stakes are rising' ahead of next Sunday's Gemini New Moon (7:53 PM PDT 24° Gemini). Venus moves into Leo on Saturday after completing the square to Chiron. There is a sense of excitement in the atmosphere but there may also seem to be a bit of 'danger' — there is some sense that the 'protections' have been taken down or 'the training wheels have been removed'. Venus in Leo is offering a preview of the momentous aspects that are setting up for July when the 'Basket' involving Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto will offer significant new intellectual — and societal — connections. Jupiter will join Venus in Leo by June 29th, setting up an opposition to Pluto, as well as a trine to Neptune and a sextile to Uranus. By July 18th, Jupiter will reach 4° of Leo with Neptune at 4° of Aries, Uranus at 4° of Gemini, and Pluto at 4° of Aquarius. This week's ingress of Venus into Leo begins the 'overture' — the prologue — of a remarkable 'production' that is set to unfold in mid-July. The preliminary involvement of Venus suggests a staunch, value-based attempt to set up some kind of coordination/collaboration between the outer planets — seeking to soothe and soften the dramatic shifts suggested by the connections to the outer planets. However, there are significant elements of 'fate, destiny, or providence' at work. Mercury will reach the 'shadow' of the next retrograde phase (June 29 - July 23) by the end of this week, laying down markers that suggest a re-examination of our intentions, specifically related to emotional security and our connections to our home and 'tribe'. Jupiter's connection to the outer planets in mid-July is both more expansive than Venus but also more ego-centered and 'belief-driven' and — coming near the end of the retrograde Mercury — will be informed by the review of the status of our emotional security. This is likely to set up a far more intense atmosphere that largely ignores the attempts by Venus to establish cooperation — unless we are able to retain the awareness of what is offered by Venus over the next few days.
Sunday's freedom-loving environment may tend to boost our idealism to unrealistic levels. There is optimism which is full of restlessness that has the potential to go 'too far'. There is a dreamy quality on Monday that doesn't really support much actual 'production' or tangible progress. Nonetheless, the sensitive inspirational qualities do support intentional 'visioning'. Tuesday's optimism is especially stubborn but so, too, is an intentional determination to seek deeper understanding. Despite the fact that there is increased activity, we continue to struggle to find some kind of 'tangible, practical' route to real progress. Wednesday's atmosphere is vaguely tense. There aren't any distinct, clear obstacles to overcome — or evade — but motivation wanes and actual progress remains stalled. The intellectual capacity is truly 'off-the-charts' on Thursday in an atmosphere that seems to be intent on setting aside past obstacles and past conflicts in order to move into entirely new areas. We are beginning to see something like a 'bulldozer' effect with an intention to push away old obstacles and create an entirely new path. There is a deep sense of anticipation on Friday but we aren't likely to find a clear sense of direction. There are significant elements of 'fate, destiny, or providence' at work. Saturday's atmosphere is quite exciting but there may also seem to be a bit of 'danger' — there is some sense that the 'protections' have been taken down or 'the training wheels have been removed'. There are clues offered that point to the significant shifts that are on the way in the coming months.
