Sagittarius Full Moon — Vista of Possibility

"Faith - in life, in other people, and in oneself - is the attitude of allowing the spontaneous to be spontaneous, in its own way and in its own time."

— Alan W. Watts

Finding stability in this week's atmosphere isn't easy. The week begins with a Sagittarius Full Moon (1:44 AM PDT 9° Sagittarius/Gemini) that 'lights' up a broadly optimistic 'vista' of possibilities. The Moon goes on to trine Saturn, shortly after the Full Moon, suggesting a great deal of perseverance and determination that supports our efforts to make the most of the optimism that is offered. But there are several elements that keep us off balance this week. Distractions come and go during a number of extended periods when the Moon is VOC which tend to keep us from firmly establishing any effective grounding or stability. Mercury's arrival in Cancer on Monday creates distractions through an increased concern over what others may be thinking about us and potentially adding some emotional overtones to our ability to process information. Once in Cancer, Mercury's initial square to Neptune, which completes by Wednesday, suggests intellectual confusion that challenges our ability to focus effectively on what we really want. These challenges to our focus leave us unable, for the most part, to make the kind of progress that the optimism offered by the Full Moon has inspired us to believe is possible. As well, Uranus is approaching a square to the lunar nodes, coming within a degree of the exact square that will complete on June 11th. The Uranus square suggests that destiny or providence will have a few more 'cards to play' before we have a solid chance at finding any sort of clear sense of direction. In mutable signs, the square highlights the unpredictable, spontaneous, revolutionary nature of Uranus. The Virgo/Pisces axis is emphasized — the Pisces North Node encourages us to operate on an intuitive, 'faith-based' level while the Virgo North Node suggests that we need to step back from rigid expectations and allow the process to unfold naturally. Despite this week's rather optimistic environment, we should not expect quick, reliable results. As we move through the week, we do begin to find increased support for grounding our vision. Ceres makes a conjunction with Uranus on Wednesday, which suggests the beginnings of a diplomatic initiative that encourages us to build consensus. But we need to find a way to walk a 'fine line' between maintaining our unique, independent vision while building a collaborative framework for further progress. As Uranus heads into the square to the lunar nodes, we will begin to see important breakthroughs falling into place spontaneously. The challenge is holding the focus on our individual vision while stepping back from the manipulative preoccupation with directing how each element unfolds. The significance of the shifts that unfold over the course of this week and next will become more apparent once we begin the new lunar cycle on June 14 with a Gemini New Moon (7:53 PM PDT 24° Gemini) although our ability to process these shifts emotionally may be problematic if we haven't managed to let go of the need to maintain complete control of the process.

We struggle to make the most of Sunday's broadly optimistic atmosphere. The challenge is to ground our optimism with a realistic, clear-eyed approach. We continue to struggle to ground our optimism on Monday. A reliance on instinct and intuition is the most promising approach but there are few quick results offered. Insights pierce confusion in unpredictable ways on Tuesday. While there is increased support for grounding our vision, we need to maintain our overall focus on exactly what it is that we want to accomplish. Wednesday offers a great deal of help to move beyond our difficulty with focus, allowing us to set aside unnecessary distractions. We may tend to 'lean in' to a sense of fatalism. There is finally some real stabilization offered on Thursday but, with new intuitive insights, we find that the ground has shifted so much that we may still feel quite unsettled. However, many of our individual initiatives may seem to be spontaneously falling into place in surprisingly productive ways. The support for stabilization continues to flow on Friday, with increased encouragement to share our ideas and insights in more 'collaborative' ways. Patience is needed, encouraging us to focus on actively listening, rather than pushing any specific agenda. We may find ourselves searching for some kind of consensus on Saturday — without much success. Compromise feels quite troublesome, despite the extra efforts that seem to keep our focus on finding consensus.
