Venus in Pisces — Collective Perspectives

"You cannot hope to build a better world without improving the individuals. To that end, each of us must work for his own improvement and, at the same time, share a general responsibility for all humanity, our particular duty being to aid those to whom we think we can be most useful."

— Marie Curie

A heavy sense of responsibility continues to be a major factor this week as the Moon wanes in light ahead of next week's Aquarius New Moon Eclipse (February 17, 4:00 AM PST 28° Aquarius). Venus steps into Pisces on Tuesday, encouraging compassion but also setting up a tendency to make sacrifices without a clear sense of purpose. Mars is nearing a conjunction with Vesta that will complete right before next week's New Moon. The building intensity of the Mars/Vesta connection keeps this lunar cycle's sense of responsibility directly in front of us — and adding some degree of self-righteousness to the equation. Mars and Vesta are making us increasingly aware of the cost of any sacrifices we're making. Nonetheless, there is also a deeply intense desire to 'break free' of whatever sort of restrictions — and heavy responsibilities — that seem to keep holding us back from a full expression of our individual perspective. Broadly, we seem to be trying to find some way to blend our individual perspective with a much wider perspective. Venus in Pisces can certainly help us to identify the proper 'blend' but won't give us the headstrong determination to protect what is distinctly our own perspective. The Moon activates both Mars and Vesta on Wednesday as the Sun makes a sextile to Chiron from Aquarius to Aries, offering compassionate support but stirring us to action. We're likely to develop quite a 'head of steam' that has us trying to find some way to dispense with constraints and restrictions and push ahead — something like "Move fast and break things". As Mars and Vesta move closer together, they both move into quincunxes to Jupiter from Aquarius to Cancer, putting our focus on adjusting and adapting our boundaries, as well as the borders we draw, with the intention of protecting the things that we believe that we own. It's likely that any lines or boundaries that we try to draw will actually block our ability to break free — something that is not easy to see from this week's perspective. Saturn returns to Aries on Friday. The heavy sense of responsibility under the waning lunar cycle is seriously tested. The willingness to make sacrifices intensifies but those sacrifices may bring increasing waves of self-righteousness. By the end of the week, the Moon gets to Aquarius and begins to stir whispers of next week's Aquarius Full Moon Eclipse as both the Sun and Moon approach the square to Uranus in Taurus. There is hope that we can begin to recognize that much of the heavy responsibility and sense of restriction that we are struggling with is tied to attempts to control others. We may begin to recognize how we can free ourselves simply by giving up on our attempts to control others.

We face some impatience on Sunday. Nonetheless, there is a great deal of potent regenerative capacity available, allowing us to stay on track despite having to endure some apparent obstacles and constraints. Friendship is especially important on Monday, which can lead us to sacrifice too much for the sake of maintaining those friendships. The environment is quite likely to bring about significant exposure, requiring us to admit our 'part' with as much grace and acceptance as possible. There is a deeply intense desire to 'break free' of whatever sort of restrictions seem to keep holding us back on Tuesday. We seem to be trying to find some way to blend our individual perspective with a much wider perspective. Powerful compassion and empathy is found on Wednesday, which is opening wide the door to better insight and understanding of the challenges that others are facing. The atmosphere provides a steadfast ability to stand firm with real meaning and dedication of purpose. We are trying to sort through our ideas of boundaries, borders, and what we believe we own on Thursday. The lines that we're trying to draw are actually blocking the achievement of Freedom — but that is not easy to see. Our responsibility is tested on Friday. The lesson, as we face an inescapable dose of stark reality, is to maintain our efforts and face any weaknesses directly. We are offered remarkable insights on Saturday, helping us to recognize that attempts to control others are futile. Transforming ourselves is the only way to transform the world.
