Leo Full Moon - Disruption

"For He maketh His sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust."

— Matthew 5:45

Mars returns to make the second of three trines to Saturn this week, accented by the Moon at the beginning of the week. Also at the beginning the week, Mercury gets to the 'superior conjunction' with the Sun and begins to 'lead the way'. These developments draw our focus towards the future, encouraging planning and 'thinking ahead'. However, with Mars still retrograding, action — especially aggressive action — is not as productive as we might hope. Mars will not station direct until February 23rd, returning to trine Saturn once again, as well as making another square to Chiron. All three will finally be moving in direct motion by the time they make the third round of these aspects. But dominating this week's energy is Wednesday's Leo Full Moon (5:53 AM PST 24° Leo/Aquarius) in a strikingly potent square to Uranus. Impulsiveness builds this week, ahead of the Full Moon. But we need to be prepared for significant disruptions that keep us off balance. Adaptability and awareness are especially important this week. While we may be finding a steady stream of insights, revelations, and new information, drawing conclusions or understanding how to make use of the wave of insights is not easy. It is interesting to note that Juno's position late in Scorpio, puts it in a position to mediate the challenging landscape of the Full Moon. Direct expression of demands for individual rights, fairness, and equity is powerfully supported by Juno. Mercury trines Juno just after the Full Moon, suggesting powerful detachment. But it isn't easy to recognize the detachment that is offered by the Mercury-Juno trine. Detachment can help us to see how to navigate the disruptive atmosphere that is fostered under the Leo Full Moon. Juno's involvement provides superior power to mediate between the Sun's humanitarian aims (Aquarius) and the Moon's personal demonstration of will power (Leo). With Uranus now direct in Taurus, personal security is likely to be disrupted as we seek a more fair and equitable resolution to the conflicts which swirl around us this week and throughout the rest of this lunar cycle. By Friday, Mercury arrives in Pisces, helping us to stabilize our thinking and 'dissolve' some of the residual, internal chaos from Wednesday's Leo Full Moon. Mercury is not always comfortable in the murky realms of Pisces. But in this environment, Mercury in Pisces can help us to find a sense of 'calm' that can dissipate some of the overload resulting from the week's disruptions and keep us 'thinking forward'.

Impulsiveness begins to build on Sunday. The energy and mental focus is quite erratic and hard to properly direct. Monday's environment feels like a roller-coaster ride and close relationships are crucial to bolstering our ability to persevere in the face of obstacles and challenges. We're hard pressed to 'go-it-alone'. Tension is high on Tuesday, with an extremely powerful atmosphere that is geared towards sudden, "lightening-like insight piercing through propaganda". The lessons are aimed towards the growth of our understanding — like putting together the pieces of a puzzle. Wednesday atmosphere is strikingly potent, disruptive, and unpredictable. There is a steady stream of insight but not a terribly effective ability to pull together a coherent narrative that might help us understand how to make use of what we can see unfolding. Direct expression of demands for individual rights, fairness, and equity is well supported on Thursday. Aggressiveness is more likely to keep us isolated in self-indulgent self-delusion rather than further our cause. We find a sense of 'calm' on Friday, helping us to dissipate some of the week's 'overload'. We have an increased capacity for detachment as well as a bit less ego-involvement. We can begin to survey the landscape on Saturday with any eye towards 'getting organized'. 'Standing in our truth' is remarkably powerful, offering the most productive approach to communicating our position.
